Why do tires shake at low speeds?
Tyre defects An out-of-round (i.e. misshapen) tyre, or one where the tread or internal belts have separated from the body of the tyre, can cause your car to vibrate at low speeds (under 30km/h). While these types of problem could be due to a manufacturing defect, it can also be caused by severe road hazards.
Why does my Chevy Tahoe vibration go away at 70 mph?
For a few months now I have had vibration that sounds more or less like a bad wheel bearing at speeds around 70-75 MPH. It goes away if I solw down or speed up out of that range. Both front hubs have been replaced as they went very bad within a month of each other.
What does vibration feel like at 70 mph?
I can feel it slightly in the seat and steering wheel, however it does not feel like the wheel is “shaking” like it would with a tire that was badly out of balance. It is more just a low rumble that just makes the car seem “loud”. If I accelerate through this range, it slowly fades in around 70, and fades out as I get over 74 or so.
Why does my Suburban Tahoe shake at 73mph?
Dealer has had the vehicle 3 times over the past 1.5 months. Worst seems to be at 73mph. It is just like a tire out of balance. Shaking your thighs, and extremely annoying. Latest from the dealer is it is a problem with the 20″ wheel/tire combination and is occuring on a lot of vehicles.
