Why did the battery die on my GT?
Why did the battery die on my GT?
Was told by the shop that did repairs on the GT after it was rear ended 3.5 months ago that the battery had just died on them a day before, and that some of the gauges weren’t working. Thought that was strange that the dash was having issues.
Why did my battery die but then charged?
Shortly thereafter my gauges started to act up and the battery dies again. Turned out it was not the battery all along but the chassis ground right up front next to the battery. Once I cleaned the threads and reassembled all my battery and gauge problems were solved.
Why are the dash gauges not working on my car?
Not a good feeling seeing nothing active on the dash. Maybe they jump started the car with a boost box or another car? :thumbsdow BAAAAAADDDDD thing to do. The electronics, and particularly the gauges are super sensitive to voltage spikes. A new battery MAY solve the problem.
Is there a charger for a die hard battery?
Get the best Die Hard there is and forget about it. (there is other posts on the forum that address this, including part #s) There is a special charger for gel cells. They condition the battery as well as charge it. Because this charger is VERY expensive, most people don’t have one, and just use a wet cell charger.
What are the fuses on a Dodge Durango?
Good thanks. Ok, let’s start with the fuses. In the inside fuse box, check #12………this is a 10 amp fuse. In the under hood box, check #16 this is a 50 amp. If the fuses are good, let’s locate the starter relay in the underhood fusebox and remove it. Swap in another one just in case, and see if it goes.
What to do if your Dodge Durango wont start?
If there is no voltage there, then check the red/yellow tracer wire for 12 volts all the time. If you have 12 volts on the red/yellow…………….but nothing on the yellow, then the switch is the problem. If there is no voltage on the red/yellow, then check fuse “E” in the underhood fuse box and this is a 20 amp.

How can I tell if my car battery is overcharging?
Anything higher than 14.7V indicates overcharging in the battery. Check for a faulty regulator if you find that the voltage regulator works like an electrical current that runs volts through the battery. If the voltage regulator goes bad, it can overcharge your car battery. Measure the voltage from the alternator.
Why are all of the gauges in my car not working?
There are a lot of different types of instrument cluster designs and configurations, but when all of the gauges in a car stop working at once, the problem is usually either a fuse or wiring problem. The first step in diagnosing this type of issue is to identify the fuse associated with the instrument cluster or gauges.
