Why are the windows not working on my Silverados?

We had a short where the 60 amp was and whenever we held the brake release the short went away. put some electrical tape over the wires where the jacket was pinched off and everything works fine. Reading on other forums this appears to be a common issue with the silverados.

A technician that is diagnosing this would use the wiring diagram to find the proper wires to test and check for power when the window is rolled up to see if there is power present when the window is commanded to roll down with the switch.

The passenger side switch is the probable cause. The driver’s side switch uses the relays in the passenger switch to operate the window and if this is defective a good driver’s side switch will not cause the window to move. Replacing the passenger side switch should fix the problem.

Why are my passenger side windows not working?

I have an 07 LTZ and neither my passenger side windows work right now as well as passenger and driver power seats. Looking at the manuals i traced it back to a circuit to the left of the steering column. That led me to a fuse under the hood which was blown (60amp).
