Simply remove the screws, unplug the electrical connector on the resistor and the pigtail that secure the blower motor resistor from the blower, remove the resistor or heater control relay assembly, and install the new resistor in place. Fan speed worked fine but would shut off completely for a minute or so then come back on for a minute or so. At 9 month, the fan could not be turned off at all, even when the truck (2006 Silverado) was turned off and key removed. Unplugging the connector to the part will stop the fan of course – just in case you get in a panic.
