Where does the oil go after a power stroke?

Where does the oil go after a power stroke?

Oil pressure in excess of 70 psi between the pump and oil cooler is vented back to the oil pan. The oil travels from the oil pump to the oil cooler and any pressure greater than 25 psi is diverted around the oil cooler to the oil filter. The benefit is providing an alternative oil flow path during high oil flow conditions.

What should I do if my diesel tank runs dry?

While the frequency of warnings does vary, all modern diesels give their owners plenty of notice that their DEF must be replenished well before the dry-tank doomsday occurs. Our Titan, for example, has a gauge that’s handy for checking the DEF level before embarking on a major trip.

Why do I need to refill my diesel exhaust tank?

Using and refilling diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) is increasingly becoming a common aspect of owning a diesel-powered car or truck. This chemical is designed to reduce vehicle emissions by combining with exhaust gases after they have left the engine, which means that, over time, your DEF tank will start to run low.

How do you remove the oil from a gas tank?

Disconnect the oil temperature sender from the reservoir. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure switch found on top of the reservoir. Remove the (3) 10mm bolts and (2) 13mm bolts holding down the reservoir. Remove the reservoir with the fuel bowl attached.

What can cause a HPOP reservoir to keep losing its oil?

I keep losing oil from the hpop reservoir after it sets ,keeps draining back into the oil pan i guess, could it be the injector regulator? Thanks ,Tim. The oil is held in the hpop reservoir by a check valve.

Where is the plug in the fuel return line?

It is a plug down in the valley with an internal hex IIRC. Basically just a ball valve with a spring holding it closed, but oil pressure unseats it when the engine is running. If you look straight down in the valley below the fuel return line on the driver’s side of the fuel filter, you’ll see a round plug with square recess.

Where is the oil check valve on a Toyota Prius?

Basically just a ball valve with a spring holding it closed, but oil pressure unseats it when the engine is running. If you look straight down in the valley below the fuel return line on the driver’s side of the fuel filter, you’ll see a round plug with square recess. Underneath that plug is a ball check valve.
