When does a Ford Ka start to Rev itself?
About 9 months ago it started to rev itself when the engine was idling (i.e. it sounds like it is a boy racer waiting to pull away at the traffic lights) – and idling at quite a high rate (i.e. it can drive itself along at about 15-20 miles per hour in 2nd gear without my foot even being on the accelerator).
What was the problem with my Ford Ka?
Had a similar problem with daughter Ka,turned out common fault air control valve fitted to carb system, they get bunged up.£40 or so from ford easy to fit. Ka also had problem of cutting out due to air fuel mix inncorrect.
Why does my Ford Ka have high revs?
The high revs seems to me because air is getting into the engine. Could be that the throttle butterfly is sticking slightly open due to warpage. The garage has changed all of the other components that could be the cause. Hope this helps.

Why does my Ford KA engine not start?
The second way that your Ka won’t start is when the engine turns when you engage the starter, but it won’t fire and run on its own. When the engine isn’t turning over at all, that’s a bit easier to diagnose than when it is cranking but not firing.
