What to do if your low beam light is not working?

What to do if your low beam light is not working?

If you’ve got a DMM (digital multimeter) check if there is voltage appearing at the bulb connector when you turn on the low beam switch. If voltage is there, then use the Ohmmeter function in the meter to check that there is a good earth connection on the other connector to the bulb.

Why are the low beams on my Mercedes not working?

Check that the low beams are working. If they aren’t, there may be a problem with the wire harness that goes to the headlight or the wires inside the headlights. Make sure the wire harness is pressed firmly into the headlight assembly.

What can cause a low beam headlight to be dim?

If it is, use a voltmeter to see how much power, if any, is reaching the headlights. If there is no power reaching them, there is a break in the wiring somewhere between the fuse panel and the headlights themselves. Thanks! What can cause the light to be dim except when on the high beam setting?

Can a high beam light bulb be blown out on the same side?

If the high beam on the same side is also out, it may be one bulb. You do not need to purchase specific bulbs for each side, but identifying which is the blown out bulb will help you to replace it without having to start the vehicle again.

What to do if your low beams stop working?

My low beams suddenly stopped working. All the fuses are good. I swapped the relay and that was not the problem. The bulbs have less than 100 hours on them. I have read about similar problems. Was there a recall? What are my next steps? Any advice would be appreciated. Click to expand… Do your DRLs work?

2007 Toyota Corolla headlight low… 2007 Toyota Corolla headlight low beam on the passenger side will not work. I have replaced the bulb with one I know is good.

If both low and high beam not working only common thing to both is the ground wire….see diagram…verify by connecting circuit tester from positive battery terminal to ground wire in the plug once disconnected from the headlight bulb on that side….you could check yourself by checking the ground wire on the other working headlight.

Where are the fuses for the low beam lights?

Your low beam fuse locations in the engine compartment fuse box are fuse #26 (15 amp) and #31 (15 amp). They are for the left side and right side low beam lights but I forget if that is facing the engine left and right or sitting in the driver’s seat left and right.

What causes a low beam light to stop working?

If a headlight fuse blows, it could cause the headlights to stop working. Most headlight systems are also designed with a relay that switches the power between low beam and high beam headlights.

Do you need to replace both high and low beams?

Some vehicles use a single bulb for both high and low beams while others do not. If the high beam on the same side is also out, it may be one bulb. You do not need to purchase specific bulbs for each side, but identifying which is the blown out bulb will help you to replace it without having to start the vehicle again.

Why are the low beams on my Dodge Ram not working?

I started researching other causes for the issue and discovered that 2006 and later model year Dodge trucks have no fuses nor relays controlling power to the lights. When you turn on the headlights, the wires to the low beams return a signal to the ECM (Engine Control Module) which sends power to the lamps. Really?

Is it safe to drive with high beams on?

No one wants to be driving along at night and have their headlights go out. In many cases, the high beams will still work when the regular headlights stop, but it’s just not safe to drive around with your high beams potentially blinding other drivers.

What to do when your low beam light goes out?

Disconnect the battery. Be sure you remember which side of the car has a blown out low beam bulb before disconnecting the battery. To disconnect it, use a hand or socket wrench of the appropriate size to loosen the nut holding the ground cable onto the negative terminal of the battery.

Is there a fuse for the high beam headlamp?

No fuse aside from the BCM mega fuse, which would affect more than just one headlamp, fuse 74 is the high beam, but for both sides, The power to the headlamps is controlled by the BCM. Sounds like either the bulbs or the wiring to the right lamp. The BCM does split the circuits to either headlamp, so it is possible there’s a fault there as well.

How many fuses are in front low beam light?

There are 2 10 Amp fuses, one for each front low beam light (#14 and 15 in the fuse box), so won´t expect for both to blow at the same time. There is however also a single lowbeam relay, which gets its signal from the body control module.

Where are the low beam and high beam relays?

There is however also a single lowbeam relay, which gets its signal from the body control module. So have a look at this relay first. You could swap the low beam and high beam relay to be sure that the problem is the relay. Both relays are on the junction block, above the fuse box.

Are there any low beams that are still working?

Some time ago, my low beams just quit working. The bulbs are fine, (dual fillament, by the way) and the high beams still work. I checked the fuses and the relay for the low beams and all are still in tact.

Why does my low beam headlights not work?

Both high beams & driver side low beam work. Fuses have been checked and are good. The bulb has been changed as well as the pigtail connector. Still no resolve. Checked the wiring to make sure we had a good connection. Anybody have any suggestions???
