I would like to go with the 6.2L V8, but it is a lot of extra cost with the LTZ and additional cost for the engine. I am thinking of going with a 2016 Silverado 1500 LT Z71 with the 5.3L and the 6 speed transmission or the 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ – Z71 with the 5.3L and the 8 speed transmission.

The LT won’t get the 8 speed any time soon. The EcoBoost will out-tow the 5.3 no question. But the 6.2 will beat the EcoBooost unless you’re going to be towing at 10,000 feet. However, the 5.3 will pull 5,000lbs all day, no problem. You WANT the transmission to downshift.
