What kind of power source does a Ford Escape have?

I have a 2014 Ford Escape SE AWD. There is a 12V power source up front by the gear shift as well as one inside the center console. Both of these power options remain on when the car is off, however.

Where are the 12V power adapters on a 2013 Ford Escape?

On the latter, in the ’13-’16 FE each of the available (how many ya got depends on options/trim) 12v power sockets is on a dedicated 20A fuse (F15, F17, F18 in the front BJB for those in the console and F27 in the rear RJB if ya got one in the cargo area).

How many 12V power adapters do I Need?

You’ll have to look at the fuse list for your 17 to see if it’s similar.

Is there a way to turn off a 12V outlet?

You can then install an SPDT toggle to switch between the existing (always on) and new (on with key) 12V supplies, with the center switch terminal connected to the DC outlet. Make sure that you use a switch that is rated for 15ADC or better.
