How is bellhousing bolt pattern measured?
Re: Measuring a bellhousing pattern for an adapter plate
- take a picture of the bellhousing and print out the picture as big as possible.
- bolt bellhousing to CNC mill table and sweep in the crank centerline with a dial indicator.
- sweep each hole location and write the XY location next to it on your picture.
What is SAE flywheel?
SAE stands for “Society of Automotive Engineers”, this is an American organisation that sets standards for engineerring professionals. Just one of the standards it sets are those of flywheel housings and flywheels on engines. It is from a Perkins 4016-61TRG3 engine and has a SAE 00 / 18 coupling arrangement.
What does a flywheel housing do?
Bell housing or bellhousing is a colloquial/slang term for the portion of the transmission that covers the flywheel and the clutch or torque converter of the transmission on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.
