What hydraulic oil do you use for Takeuchi?
What hydraulic oil do you use for Takeuchi?
Oils Suitable For Takeuchi Excavator: Hydraulic 46 Oil – 15w/40 Engine Oil, 10w/30 Engine Oil – 80w/90 Gearbox Oil.
How would you determine which hydraulic fluid to use in a hydraulic system?
Conclusion: how to select the right hydraulic fluid?
- Select the right viscosity at the given operating temperatures to ensure the highest efficiency and to meet the system requirements.
- Select the suitable AW additives: Zn or Zn free anti-wear protection additives.
- Check on viscosity index.
What kind of hydraulic fluid does a Takeuchi use?
My entire fleet, including my Takeuchis, run on TO-4 spec 10W. I’ve got Takeuchis with nearly 10k hours, and the only failure even remotely related to the hydraulic oil has been the load check valve on the arm circuit of my 8k hr TB53FR, and, even that can’t be blamed on the oil.
What kind of lubricant do I need for my Takeuchi excavator?
Midlands Lubricant Oils Suitable For Takeuchi Excavator includes 10w/30 Engine Oil, 15w/40 E9 or E7 Engine Oil – Hydraulic 46 Oil – EP80w/90 GL5 Gearbox Oil – Transmission Oil – Steering Fluid and Brake Fluid and Antifreeze Blue Concentrate Coolant.
Why is the load check valve on my Takeuchi not working?
I’ve got Takeuchis with nearly 10k hours, and the only failure even remotely related to the hydraulic oil has been the load check valve on the arm circuit of my 8k hr TB53FR, and, even that can’t be blamed on the oil. Damned plunger turned sideways in the bore, requiring replacement of that valve section.
Is it okay to use Aw 68 on a Takeuchi tractor?
Sort of like how most tractors can run UDT or an equivalent universal oil that isn’t factory spec and be happy as a clam. It currently has some type of regular old hydraulic fluid in it and seems to be working just fine. For topping it off and changes though is it okay to use AW 68?

How much oil to put in a hydraulic system?
Hydraulic systems generally work better on a purpose-designed hydraulic oil. With the experience posted above I’d take HMC’s advice if I were you and put 10W TO-4 in it.
