I had a screwed up ECM when I bought my truck; bought a reman unit from All Computer Resources for $146.25 (that is shipping included) and it worked fine. After verifying, I sent the old one to them as a core exchange. Everything went smoothly.

Give the guys at NoLimitFab (or anywhere for that matter) a ring and they will set you up. Give them a vin, run down of mods, and the $$$… I still wouldn’t tune without the stock file, but that’s just me being anal… If you don’t have the option and your local dealers are paranoid, well you gota do what you gota do. it is a 6.uh-oh!

The pcm’s are indeed different. Try sticking a 2005 pcm in a 2003, Lots of things won’t work correctly. The 05-up have a strategy that simulates a misfire due to low fuel level, the 03-04 does not. The pcm’s are coded just as the 7.3’s are. The 6.0 stores the vin inside the pcm as well (starting in 05).
