What does p0701 stand for in Transmission Control System?
P0701 is a generic code indicating there are other transmission DTCs active. I suggest you repost this in either Domestics or Transmissions and include all the pertinent info, including year, make, model, FWD or AWD, A/T or CVT, etc….
Are there transmission issues in my Ford Freestyle?
If you shop at Amazon.com (for anything), use this link to support MyFordFreestyle.com! I’m new to the forum however I’ve been going through many posts regarding the Transmission issues. Specifically the ones with P0701 code but here is my story: I have a 2006 Ford Freestyle AWD with 205k KM on it. Bought it used last Sep. with 196k KM on it.
Can a faulty sensor cause a p0701 trouble code?
A faulty sensor, switch, or solenoid can trigger the storage of a P0701 trouble code, and the driver can continue to drive the vehicle without fear of any major damage, though failed sensors, switches, and solenoids can cause a slippage, rough shifting, or other problems in a vehicle transmission.
Where is the filter on a 2006 freestyle?
The filter is housed on the right side of the car and must be accessed from the wheel well opening and underbody. If you are at all unsure of doing this, it would be advised to take it to a reputable shop. You should be able to at least check the color and level of the fluid using the dip stick.
