G 31 72. 3970014 doesn’t seem to be a very popular number. The heads have the camel humps. According to Mortec.com the block is 350, 70-76, 2 or 4 bolt main. Is the July casting date too early to be found in a 73 car?

Which is stronger, the 3970010 or the 3980014?
The 3970010 seems to have been made in much larger numbers than the 3970014. I thought the 3970010 had a higher nickel content… Myth or my failing memory? How much difference would that make if it’s true? Does a higher nickel content, make a block stronger?? I thought it would make the metal softer… am i wrong??
