Is a Kona Stinky a good bike?

Is a Kona Stinky a good bike?

The stinky is a decent bike, they’re heavy as anything. I rode one as my only bike for about a year, and it worked out ok. Don’t expect to climb fast or race downhill on one (it can be done, but it’s not the same as a true DH race bike.) I’d recommend it if miney’s tight because they can be found for $900 or so used.

Why does Kona Stinky Air Bike squat when braking?

Kona’s DOPE system (floating brake arm) is there to keep the suspension active during aggressive braking. On the bigger Kona machines, the position of this arm can be moved to allow the bike to squat slightly when braking into a corner. Without this the Stinky felt a little weighted toward the front end.
