Why is my service Def engine not restarting?
A lot of these messages are caused by dealer not doing the update completely , they think just doing the flash will fix it . The whole update might have told them they were to drain and refill the def tank in a certain order. You will also get this message with any time you lose def injection IE def pump failure, plugged def injector .

Knowing the code or codes that are set would be helpful. Yank DEF system out of truck. Usual Suspect and 69GWC like this. The next morning the message was gone. I took it to the dealer anyways and they stuck their code reader on it. They said it didn’t have any codes in the system and was possibly a glitch.
