Have had the trailer brake lights and turn signals wired back in through the tractor brake/turn lights for about 5yrs. All LED lights and no issues with doing it that way (other than not having more brake lights lit up. Still have 4 though at the rear.)

Several issues going on there. Pretty sure the harness between cab and trailer has a bad wire or 2. Other is, a couple of places in the fuse panel no longer have power. One of the pins for the trailer brake relay is corroded and no supply power for the coil side of the relay.
