I always put pressure on the bonnet when doing the first turn of the key. It helps to reduce friction on the lock and saves the key twisting too. A sprsy of motorbike chain grease helps too (sticks better than normal grease and doesn’t run off).

If you still cannot get the bonnet open then the ONLY way to access it open it is to remove the 2 x 10 mm volts from the bonnet latch from underneath the vehicle This is tight on the focus /c-max but manageable
