How do you display race medals in a shadow box?

You may want to arrange medals according to another criteria, not military precedence. Organize them by date, rank or shape; line them up parallel with an in-uniform photograph in the middle; or arrange them in inverted triangles with a triangular folded flag taking up the bottom center third of the shadow box.

How do you display war medals in a frame?

How do you keep medals from tarnishing?

Wrap the medal in acid-free tissue paper or well-washed fabric, preferably undyed. Soft cotton and linen fabric such as sheets, handkerchiefs or teatowels are suitable, but other fabrics such as velvet should not be used because some contain acidic dyes, which can cause the metal to corrode.

What do you do with old marathon medals?

If you have leftover cloth bags (cinch, drawstring or tote) from events or races, you can use the bag in place of newspaper or bubble wrap to ship the medals. This actually helps us as we use the cinch bags to transport the ribbons to textile recycling!
