Problem may be at wiring connector on top of fuel tank (hard to reach!). No gas in fuel tank (Check the fuel gauge, and keep in mind the gauge may not be reading accurately). Bad gas (Contaminated with water or too much alcohol or diesel fuel). If you just filled up with gas and now your car won’t start, suspect bad gas.

Where to check for no start fuel pump?

The first thing you want to do is check the fuse panel to see if the fuse is blown. If your car has two fuse panels than the one in the engine compartment; should be the correct one to check. The fuse panel or circuit box is usually located near the battery; and is a small black box with a removable lid.

Also had a similar issue spin and no start with a 96 Chevy Express Van with the 5.7L. This vehicles issue turned out to be a shorted pink wire in the wiring harness that runs up the passenger side of the block. The vehicle had died while driving several times and wouldn’t start. Then, finally after blowing a couple fuses, would start at all.

Truck was at half tank before I started filling and wouldn’t take any gas in. Tried a different station the next day with same result. Dropped off at dealer and they were not able to find any issue. They put 5 gallons in just fine. Dealer couldn’t recreate, and no TSBs, so did nothing. I picked it up and filled it just fine.
