If your scanner can do an injector buzz test you would know whether or not the injectors are firing and if none of the injectors buzz then you can guarantee it is the IDM. Click to expand… what if you do the injector buzz and only the driver side odd bank fires?
Can a used IDM burn up a new IDM?
The used IDM ran the truck perfectly. We also checked the UVCH to verify that we were not going to burn up a new IDM by overlooking bad connections to the injectors. Your problem sounds quite possibly IDM related.
Is the IDM on my Ford 2000 still working?
Now it just cranks, good volts, pcm signal, oil pressure, it’s deff getting fuel at the bowl. The valve cover harness on both sides is all good. But I don’t think the injectors are firing. I took the plug off the IDM and it is getting power from the relay. The IDM is all corroded on the outside but looks okay on the inside.

I’m thinking it’s the IPR valve or IDM Had a 7.3 in the shop the other day that was running on passenger side cylinders only. Wouldn’t pull it’s own weight much less a trailer. Also had no oil out of the driver side injectors.

It had dead spots in the throttle like a big hiccup. Finally tried it again running even worse and it died and would not start up after. Now it just cranks, good volts, pcm signal, oil pressure, it’s deff getting fuel at the bowl.
