How can I tell if my Cummins ISX has no boost?
How can I tell if my Cummins ISX has no boost?
Ok than verify you have no boost pressure by hooking up a manual gauge to the intake and road test the unit. If you had a true loss of boost the intake manifold pressure (boost psi) sensor would alert you. Sorry for the delay i was out of town for a few days.
What are the problems with a 2009 Cummins ISX?
The truck is doing the exact same thing, it doesn’t run any better or any worse than it did BEFORE I brought it in. Thanks for the info. 111 – coolant, 131 is a short in the accelerator, 27 seems to be an actuator issue with the VGT turbo, 384 I can’t find, and 131 comes back to an issue for the EGR pressure sensor.
Why are the DPF warning lights not working on my ISX?
They said the reason for this was because the DPF was plugged. I was skeptical, as that didn’t really explain why the idle was high, why this was intermittent, why the truck was still regenerating fine, and why there were no DPF warning lights on the dash.
What did I do when my ISX wouldn’t start?
Turns out it was the primer pump, apparantly the motor still worked, but the pump part had stopped working. Ended up pulling the line off the primer pump inlet and running a hose into a bucket with fuel. Turned the key on and started the pump.
Why does my ISX truck refuse to start?
The truck sat overnight and mosat of the day yesterday, and then around 3pm i went to start it and it did the same thing as it did over their lube pit. I pulled the fuel filters and found the fuel levels inside to be low.
Are there any turbo problems with a Cummins ISX CM871?
If it is buried in soot, and it will be, at 250k+ miles, it is, at the very least, costing you fuel mileage by now, or at its worst, causing turbo problems, power loss, hesitation in the acelerator, and/or excess soot problems. You will get turbo actuator alarms long before you get alarms for this sensor being cloged.
How to remove soot from a Cummins ISX?
<>Determine/Remove the soot buildup in the EGR system: Remove the IMAP sensor from the intake manifold. Very easy to do, takes less than a minute.
