Does Grangers Wash and repel work?

Does Grangers Wash and repel work?

Fear not: Granger’s “Clothing Repel” won’t leave you hopelessly nude. Instead, if properly used, it will restore the water repellant finish on jackets and other outdoor gear. If you’ve washed a piece with normal detergent more than once, Granger’s may not work at all.

How do you use Grangers waterproofing spray?

Spray directly onto a freshly-cleaned, damp garment, focusing more on areas prone to abrasion. Remove any excess product with a clean cloth. Allow to dry naturally or follow your care label’s drying instructions.

How do you wash Grangers?

Use 25ml capful per wash load. Pour product directly into the detergent drawer of your Washing Machine, in place of normal detergent.

What is a wicking liner?

I’d say that by “wicking lining” they mean clothes that have softer, fleecy type fabrics on the inside. I’ve had good results with the wash in, but I’ve only used it on waterproofs that are just the waterproof layer, they don’t have other fancy bits.

How do you waterproof a jacket?

Spray-On

  1. Clean jacket with Pro Cleaner or Down Cleaner as noted in the Wash-In instructions above.
  2. Hang wet or dry jacket on hanger. Shake can well.
  3. Spray 5”-10” from jacket in well-ventilated area. Apply liberally on high-wear areas like shoulders and cuffs.
  4. Check manufacturer’s care instructions before machine drying.

How do I apply for Grangers?

Apply sparingly to clean, leather footwear. Rub in a circular motion, ensuring that all seams and joints are treated. For best results, apply 2-3 thin coats, allowing the footwear to dry in between applications.

What is DWR spray?

DWR stands for “durable water repellent,” a thin layer of liquid applied to the outside of technical garments to repel oil, grease, dirt, and water. Unfortunately, a DWR treatment is not a permanent property of most outerwear and periodic care is necessary to maintain peak performance.

What does DWR finish mean?

durable water repellent
Virtually all rainwear is treated with a DWR, or a durable water repellent finish. While a waterproof/breathable membrane will stop water from penetrating to a rain jacket’s interior, a DWR is also needed to prevent precipitation from saturating the jacket’s exterior.

I use the Scotchgard™ Fabric & Upholstery Protector. They can be used on cotton, polyester, silk, wool, acrylic, nylon, delicate and dry clean only fabrics, and most washable fabrics. So they are perfect for protecting your clothes, especially your coats and jackets.
