Common questions

Does an engine replacement include the transmission?

Does an engine replacement include the transmission?

No. You do not. They are attached to one another but not dependent on each other in that way. If you need a transmission or want to replace it, the easiest time to do it would be when replacing an engine, assuming you were doing that anyway, but they are in no way required to be changed at the same time.

Are there any cars without a CVT transmission?

Cars these days are usually manufactured with CVT mainly because it is more fuel efficient compared to vehicles with manual transmission or automatic transmission. It is also a lot smoother compared to its counterpart, the automatic transmission. But the list of cars without CVT transmission still remains.

Which is the best transmission for an engine?

You need more gears to keep the engine RPM in the most efficient range. I’d go with an 18 speed transmission and one of the 1,850 lbs*ft engines. If you don’t like learning a shifting pattern to skip some gears, take a 10 speed transmission.

Is it safe to use an automatic transmission additive?

The additive is safe for use in automatic and manual transmissions, as well as both petrol and diesel engines. Simply pour the entire contents of the bottle into the engine, gearbox or differential (ensuring no overflowing) and drive the vehicle for the product to take effect.

Is there a way to remove an engine without a hoist?

There are, however, some tools that are difficult to work without, but there are ways to work around this problem. Park your car on a level surface. Apply the parking brake and open the hood. Disconnect the engine accessories. With a wrench, remove the battery cables and set the battery aside.

How to remove engine and transmission from top of car?

Then remove the AC compressor belt, the tensioner is below the alternator and uses a 12 or 14mm. Unbolt the AC compressor, 4 long 12mm bolts.

Can a transmission be pulled out of a car?

On some vehicles, it is recommended (and actually easier) is the transmission is pulled out with the engine as one unit. In very rare cases, the engine must be dropped from under the vehicle, which means raising the body (and we do NOT include that variation here).

What happens when there is no replacement transmission?

We then recommend similar alternative cars that don’t have this problem. In cases where there are no alternatives presented, it means there are no similar cars that weren’t found to have the same issue or another significant problem.
