Can you put bigger tires on the front?

Can you put bigger tires on the front?

For the front wheels, having wider tyres means having bigger wheel wells to accommodate them turning and, beyond a certain width, there is not much extra grip when turning. While it’s fine to put narrower tyres on the front and wider on the back, it’s pointless to put wider tyres on just one side of the car.

Can I put larger wheels on my car?

Stay within the manufacturer recommended size increase (1-2″) so if you have 16″ rims, don’t go bigger than 18″. Make sure there’s enough clearance in the wheel arches to turn full lock (both ways) and go over bumps. If you go wider and they are protruding out the side of the arches, they are probably too big.

How tall is the front tire on a Harley Davidson?

Not very practical BUT, there’s still room alot of room from the stock tire diameter to the fender now, which will allow to run a 21″ tire with a slightly larger sidewall. I plan on measuring how tall a 21″ wheel and tire is compared to my stock height.

Why are the front wheels narrower than the rear?

With the front wheels narrower than the rear this is known as a staggered wheel setup. For the track, we desire the same size wheels and tires for the front and rear.

What’s the difference between front and rear BMW wheels?

The lower offset pushes the wheel past the fender so the tire will contact the fender, especially when lowered, unless really aggressive camber is used. We prefer the +33 offset wheels in the front and rear. This is a better fitment on the rear with no rubbing. The front wheels will need a spacer to clear the spring perch.

How big is the front wheel on a BMW F30?

Our F30 race cars run a 9.0″ wheel, which clears the front and rear without issues. An 8.5″ square set is also good if you don’t want/need the extra weight of a 9.0 and wider tire. F80 M3, F82 M4: a new sizing configuration from BMW with a low offset front wheel and high offset rear wheel. This has upset the traditional wheel recommendations.

What’s the biggest front wheel you can get on a Harley?

The 21” wheel is the most economical way to get a bigger custom wheel without getting a new fender or raking your bike out. The 23” skinny front wheel and 21” fat front wheel require raked triple trees and new fenders.

What’s the best tire width for a front 8 “?

Use this chart to see what backspacing you need with different wheel widths to give you that positive 6 allowing you to put the widest tires possible. And since that chart doesn’t show it, 4.75 would be best for the front 8″ being considered. Most likely you will need disc brakes to run 18 and 17 inch wheels.
