    The lever in the cabin is all intact and a slight noise can be heard from beneath the hood (seems to be from the very front, to the right of the Ford badge) when pulling the lever. If you push down on the hood after pulling the cabin lever the latch will click into place, but the lever will no longer completely “release” the hood itself.

    Where is the release on the hood of a car?

    If you’re not familiar with the car, look for the interior release latch under the steering wheel, low down near the driver’s door, or in the corner of the glove box. This often has a picture of a car with an open hood. Some older cars only have an exterior release. Look for a latch under the front lip of the hood.

    Leave the engine running in cold weather. Chilly weather or frost can cause the hood to stick. Let the engine idle for a while to thaw frozen parts, then try opening the hood again.     You would need to carefully remove the panel around the hood’s release lever, and follow the cable that is attached to it. If you do find the broken cable, using the pliers pull on the part that is still attached to the main lock under the hood to open it.
