How to replace 6.0 injectors in Ford PowerStroke diesel?

Simularly take a large srew drive with a blade the size of the washer od twirl it around to clean any carbon build up and a shot of wd-40 to wash it out and good to go. Now there is a special tool for this but the screw driver works nearly as well and a lot cheaper as well.

What to do when your EGR valve is off?

Clean out the entry port. The entry port is where the valve tubes connect to the engine (usually the intake manifold) while the EGR valve is off. Reinstall the EGR valve. Check to ensure the vacuum diaphragm moves freely, reinstall the EGR valve and reattach the exhaust return and vacuum hoses. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Why is the EGR light off on a Ford F150?

The EGR doesnt just recirc exhaust it helps bring down combustion chamber temps. I hooked it back up…bam no more probs. Plus the only thing I could find to keep the check engine light off was to take the egr sensor off and tape it half way down, it was pretty crappy riggin. Wouldn’t you need to remove the smog pump along with the EGR valve?

Is the EGR delete a performance gain or loss?

EGR delete without a remap of the ECU will give no performance benefit but will increase emissions. But it does simplify things greatly. A remap is unlikely to give collossal gains in power, but there will be some. Either way it’s not an engine killer.

Just installed the Twisted smog box with all the smog elimination hardware on my 1992 F-250 460. On to an example; My completly stock 4.6 super crew pulling 12,000 gross combined weight got 9 to 10 mpg over 230 miles round trip to the race track. Your motor displacment is 1.75 times larger and will take more fuel just on engine size alone besides the weight of your truck is likely higher.
