What is better short headers or long headers?
What is better short headers or long headers?
For shorty headers, the port pipes actually merge into a single exhaust pipe in a much shorter distance. For long tube headers, the exhaust pipes are much longer and merge farther out. Long tube headers build a ton of power in the mid to high RPM range. They are the best option for high-rev vehicles, and track terrors.
Are Sanderson headers good?
They are good headers, but IMO fit too close to the block.
Why are unequal length headers bad?
The unequal lengths makes 2 cylinders flow differently then the other 2 cylinders. Ideally you want all 4 flowing the same amount and rate, equal length headers will balance the flow.

The 454 installed in motorhomes cannot disappate enough heat leading to overheating climbing grades, hot weather, hauling or just when it seemed like it wanted to! Cracked exhaust headers are way common due to this.
