An open circuit in the shift interlock electrical system can cause the shifter to become stuck in Park if the open circuit interrupts communications between the brake light switch or the ignition switch and the interlock solenoid. If power is present, the shifter interlock solenoid is bad.

Found out that Chrysler has a customer satisfaction recall for some 300s, Dodge chargers and magnums. Apparently not mine. Chrysler states the recalls are bin specific, so even though my car breaks at the same exact spot in the gear shifter as the cars in the recall, they will not assist with my costs.

I have a Chrysler 300C 2005 which was purchased Sep 2005 brand new from Jeep Chrysler in San Diego by my husband as a anniversary gift. This morning I get in my car at 0530 to come to work and I could not pull the gear shift from park position.
