What is code P0733?
The P0733 code means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected something unusual with the ratio of the third gear in the vehicle’s transmission. If there is a difference between the desired gear ratio and the actual gear ratio (multiple times) a Check Engine Light will be illuminated.
What causes an engine code of p0792?
Causes for this P0792 engine code may include: Defective or damaged Intermediate shaft speed sensor Electrical fault in the wires between the speed sensor and modules used Other related sensors/solenoids damaged or defective (e.g.: Input shaft speed sensor, Output shaft sensor, Shift solenoid etc.) Dirty or low automatic transmission fluid (ATF)
Why is my van still giving me p0734?
Still giving me P0734 and P0792 so I took it to a transmission shop for diagnosis and they found electrical noise interference induced on the Transfer shaft speed sensor wiring in the form of random spikes on his readout. he had the van running and stopped in neutral while he was checking his readout and he observed a spike on that sensor.
How to reset AutoZone transmission code p0734?
Reset the code with a $70 Autozone code reader and drove it to my trusted mechanic – he replaced the solenoid pack and all the seals. The van still coded (P0733, P0734, and P0792). Carried it back to my mechanic and he disassembled the transmission (alongside a friend who owned a transmission shop).
