Feel free to ease in to a Renaissance fair by dressing in your normal clothes. It’s totally not necessary to dress up at all. Also know that you can if you want to, and that you don’t have to go all out or be period-accurate.

What do you wear to the Renaissance Faire?
Most men choose to wear full-length breeches or half-length breeches with socks tucked into simple leather boots. For summer Ren Faires, tights would be uncomfortably warm anyway. DON’T dress as a pirate!, Trekkie, mermaid, elf, unless its’ that kind of Renaissance Faire.
Can you wear a kilt to a Ren Faire?
Of course, if you’re going for a Celtic look, a kilt is always a good option! (And don’t forget all the accessories that come with it: flashes, hose, etc.)

Can you bring swords to the Renaissance Festival?
Swords, Knives, Dirks and Daggers must be completely sheathed and peace-tied. Axes, Claymores, Maces, spears, Antique Firearms, Pikes and Halberds are NOT allowed on the Festival site. No drawing of any weapon at any time. Must be 18 years or older to carry a weapon.
