What happens when you disconnect the battery on a door lock?
One of mine didn’t work prior to disconnecting battery but others worked fine. I’m wondering if there is some sort of test done when battery is reconnected that stops locking mechanism working if it detects a problem with one of the exterior door locking switches. The saga continues.
Is there a problem with my central door lock?
Central Door lock problem after a battery disconnect. I have a 2013 XF Base. I replace the rear brake last day by my self. and I disconnected the battery for reset the EPB.

How to check the power door lock actuator?
Check actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to the table. To prevent damage to the actuator, apply battery voltage only momentarily. 1. Remove the rear door trim. 2. Remove the rear door module. 3. Disconnect the connectors from the actuator. 4. Check actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to the table.

Why does my driver’s door lock not work?
Yes my driver’s door would sometimes not unlock w my key fob or by touching the buttons on the dash. I’m scared it’s an electrical issue. Actually I was asking about locking via buttons on exterior door handles. One of mine didn’t work prior to disconnecting battery but others worked fine.
