What is a Rouge beer?
Grimbergen Rouge, flavoured with red fruits, subtly combines the character of an Abbey beer with the sweetness and aromas of strawberry, cranberry and elderberry in its taste. Its purple colour with intense reflections and its slightly pink foam indicates a unique fruity beer flavour.
How is Kriek made?
Traditionally, kriek is made by breweries in and around Brussels using lambic beer to which sour cherries (with the pits) are added. A traditional kriek made from a lambic base beer is sour and dry as well. The cherries are left in for a period of several months, causing a refermentation of the additional sugar.

What does Kriek taste like?
Kriek Boon had a strong, fresh dark cherry flavor, with hints of a rum-cherry candy. Its amber body had red highlights, and was especially attractive with a bright pink head. It is a tart beer — I would guess it is a 60/40 sour-sweet ratio, so it does not taste like a fruity soda.
How long does Kriek last?
Bottle and condition for roughly 6 months, at a maximum temperature of 15-17° C, after which the beers is carbonated and ready.
