The purpose of this preparation pack is to aid and educate you in the best ways to improve and maximize your fitness level prior to arriving at Officer Candidates School (OCS). The training period will differ between individuals; however, a rough guideline to work to is 12 weeks.

Is it hard to get selected for OCS?

Only about 60 percent of all those who apply are accepted for attendance at OCS. Civilian college graduate and current military candidates do not compete with each other for available OCS slots. Once selected, the graduation rate for OCS is over 90 percent.

Do you have your phone in OCS?

Candidates will not have access to cell phones or pay phones except on weekend liberty or for verified emergencies. Prior to being paid while at OCS, each candidate will also be required to purchase other items that they will need throughout the training cycle.
