Why does my ceiling fan not work on low speed?

Why does my ceiling fan not work on low speed?

Ceiling fans that operate at speeds slower than normal can have one of four problems. Two of these issues are mechanical: loss of bearing lubrication and poor blade balance. The other two are electrical: either a bad capacitor or damaged winding.

Why is the slowest speed on my Ceiling Fan not working?

My 3 speed ceiling fan seems to have lost its slowest speed. The high & medium speeds works OK, but the slowest speed does not work now. Any ideas? I’d guess the switch.

Why does my fan not work in high setting?

High (4), usually a seperate circuit that by passes the resistor and has a relay for higher current flow required in the high setting The most common cause of two or more speeds not working is the resistor, because if resistor two burns out it will affect speeds 1 and 2 but not 3 and 4.

When to use high or low fan speed?

There is no single “right” fan speed for all heating and cooling conditions and both high and low speed settings have uses and advantages. Higher air speeds are needed during the cooling season than during the heating season.

Can you set the speed of the fan?

In the factory, the fan is unsually set at medium speed, but another speed may be selected during installation. User selection of fan speeds on a day-to-day basis is not available. Caution must be exercised in selecting speeds lower than manufacturer’s recommendation.

What should I do if my Ceiling Fan is not working?

If there are more than one way to turn on the fan, such as a pull string or light-switch, I’d try putting it on low speed using both. One may work, unlike the other. If this doesn’t fix it, I’d call a professional to fix it. Something might have broken on the inside that you can’t see.

How to lower the settings of a dashboard fan?

Firstly remove the glove box by taking out 5 screws (2 underneath and 3 on top) BLUE circles… remove the glove box and look for the wires connected to the heater control module RED arrow remove 2xTorx head screws holding the module in place Remove the connector block.
