Why is my cold start oil pressure so low?
Why is my cold start oil pressure so low?
The lifters would start ticking when the oil pressure light popped on. Sure sign the oil pressure was actually low. This is my buddy’s truck, he has had it since new, changes oil regularly at 3,000 miles. Now has 230,000 miles. We assumed the Oil Pick Up tube O Ring was the problem but at 230,000 we decided to change the pump while in there.
Why does my 5.3 have no oil pressure?
My Fresh Rebuilt 5.3 Has No Oil Pressure!!! What could be the causes of no oil pressure at any RPM. The block is brand new, crank polished, new bearings all the way around, new oil pump, new oil pressure sensor, new gaskets, valve job on both heads, and a few external mods other than flat top pistons with 862 heads.
What should the oil pressure be on a 07 up?
If I rev the engine to 1500+ RPMs, the oil pressure will come up OK to around 40 (after maybe a minute or two), and the lifter/engine becomes quiet. The engine has 184k well maintained one owner miles (supposedly!). 1) The 07 up had a problem with this – and a bulletin addressed the issue with a TSB.
What to do if your car has no oil pressure?
Once the engine has warmed up the oil pressure returns to what could be considered “normal”. After the cold start, no oil pressure problem, the engine and the oil pressure is fine for the rest of the day. Let it even set overnight though and I have a repeat no oil pressure with start up.
