The purpose of the shackle is to allow the spring to grow or shrink in length when encountering bumps or holes in the road surface. If both ends were mounted solid, a leaf spring could not move up and down.
Do drop shackles affect ride?
Shackles won’t affect your ride, 2 inchs will have the front a tad higher, some people are into that bull dog stance.

Thanks for any input. That block is an isolator to keep the leaf’s away from the axel, you can take it out but you may hear like a clicking or shifting noise when you go over bumps, your best bet is going to be the new shackles I want to lower the rear to level the truck,,,,,,,but how??? Drop shackles for sure! About $40-$50 and easy install…
