Apparently, GM got a little smarter with their tow vehicles …. my 2015 Silverado 2500HD had 12V power at the trailer plug without doing anything and a brake controller is actually standard. Hook’em_Horns! It sucks that the brake controller and the 12V power is not ready for towing on these trucks….

Turned out that upon closer inspection the 40A fuse for Stud#1 was blown. It looked fine from the top but when I pulled it out it was no good. If it is hooked up and did blow a fuse it would be one of the square ones furthest inboard that protects the #1 post. Your slide must have overloaded the fuse. Mine is a 40 amp if I remember correctly.

Why is there no power at the factory plug?
If the fuses (and relays) are all good, then there has to be something with the factory wiring that’s cutting off power.
