What does the EVAP pressure sensor do?

What does the EVAP pressure sensor do?

The EVAP. The fuel pressure sensor works in conjunction with a vehicle’s evaporative control (EVAP) system, which captures any evaporated fuel before it leaves the fuel system. The sensor alerts the vehicle’s computer to not only fuel tank leaks, but also to leaks in the EVAP system.

How to fix the pressure sensor on a Silverado?

This video explains how to replace the pressure sensor, part #AS302 or 16238399 to fix the evap code PO452. Also may fix PO446 PO453 and more? This is on a Silverado pickup, but also relates to many more GM vehicles. Loading…

Where is the EVAP system fuel tank pressure sensor?

EVAP system/fuel tank pressure is monitored by the PCM using the EVAP pressure sensor. Located in the fuel tank and integrated into the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit housing, the EVAP pressure sensor can be quite challenging to access.

Why is my EVAP pressure sensor not working?

In this video we explore how to test and replace the EVAP pressure sensor P0450. Trouble code p0450 deals with an improper voltage signal from the EVAP pressure sensor to the ECM. This could be due to a bad harness connector, the pressure sensor or the EVAP canister vent control valve. (link below for this component)

Why does my Silverado not pass the EVAP test?

P0443: EVAP System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction. Pressure in the gas tank when you remove the gas tank cap. Your Silverado (Sierra) fails the emissions test. Difficulty filling up the gas tank with fuel. You can find a more detailed explanation of the P0443 EVAP purge solenoid trouble code here:

Where is the EVAP control system pressure sensor located?

The EVAP control system pressure sensor is located in the purge line. The sensor detects pressure inside the purge line and modifies the voltage signal sent from the ECM. As the pressure increases the voltage rises. This sensor is used for on board diagnostics. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list…

How to check fuel tank pressure with EVAP?

Open the EVAP menu in your scan tool. Look at the tank pressure with the engine running and the filler cap removed. If it’s not reading 0 the tank pressure sensor may be bad. Install the fuel cap and close the EVAP system and monitor the fuel tank pressure reported to the ECM.
