The tail shaft housing uses 5 bolts to connect to the transmission and the 1997 transmission and earlier uses 4 bolts, but internal parts had no changes other then the 4L65E.

From what ive been able to conclude is that the replacement transmission 9LUD is not designed for the trucks with thw Auto 4WD option. The problem im having with this transmission is that it wont engage any of the gears. I was not aware of the different 4L60e transmissions prior to installing it, unfortunately.
