Is there any way to successfully use the 4L60E with an LS1?

Is there any way to successfully use the 4L60E with an LS1?

1- is there any way to successfully use the 4l60e trans with the LS1? (certain torque converter to purchase, modify the flex plate, etc?) fortunately my needs are essentially stock. Looking for long term reliability. 2- will the wiring work between the 4l60e and 4l65e? I have purchased a painless wiring kit for engine management.

What’s the difference between the 4L60E and 4L65E?

The difference between the 4L60E and the 4L65E (if I remember correctly) is a 5 gear planet set instead of a 4. Ok, this sounds like good news so far. The transmission does have a full circle bellhousing.

Is the bellhousing on a 4L60E the right year?

The bellhousings are different as well as the torque converter patterns. There should be a sticker on the bellhousing that denotes the year of the tranny. Also, if the bellhousing is not a complete circle then it is not the right year model tranny.

What are the brake pipes on a 4L60E?

4L60E Gear Selector Lever Shaft Seal Brake Pipes and Hoses (non-TCS) Front Brake Pipes w/specs (non-TCS) Rear Brake Pipes w/specs (non-TCS)

Can a post 98 4L60E hit a SBC 350?

The LS crankshaft is very short, hence the spacer. However, as far as I can tell, the opposite won’t work – a post ’98 4L60E with torque converter will hit the back of the SBC crank long before the bellhousing bolts up. In the following ls1tech post I show pictures of different input shafts so that you can confirm exactly what you have.

What kind of transmission does a 1970 Camaro 350 have?

Your 1970 350 is Gen I block, that died in 1997 with the LT1. The bolt pattern is different, but I have read there are a trick or two to make it “work”. You may have to get LT1 TC and flex plate. It makes sense at least. Not sure it can be done: perhaps. Your 1970 350 is Gen I block, that died in 1997 with the LT1.

Can a Camaro SBC 350 work with a 4L60E engine?

A 4L60E with a 300mm input shaft will not work, one with a 298mm input shaft might: The 4L60E with the 300mm input shaft also have the 12 O’Clock bolt hole in the bell housing. The bell housing also has a bolt hole at 2 O’Clock, but it is not used with LS engines.
