Are R1 concepts brakes any good?

Are R1 concepts brakes any good?

First – The rotors are great! I’d like to give all 5 stars but these pads cannot be ceramic. To compare at the same time I put high quality ceramic pads on the rear with locally purchased regular style rotors and no dust at all. I have used the drilled and slotted rotors on my Expedition before and really love them.

Where are R1 concepts rotors made?

Here at R1, our lines of products are designed and engineered in-house in Cerritos, CA. We maintain and supervise strict standards in manufacturing processes in Asia (China/Taiwan).

How long does it take for R1 concepts to ship?

Shipping time will depend on your location. The shipping time to west coast states is approximately 1-3 business days, for central states 2-4 business days, and east coast states is approximately 4-5 business days.

Are Eline rotors good?

As expected with this style of rotor, they are noisier than stock, you hear em “hum” when slowing down. Worth it, once you get em broken in(just drive like a normal person for the first couple hundred miles), these brakes STOP. Great pedal feel, no brake-fade during hard driving. And they look awesome.

Whats better slotted or drilled rotors?

Given the choice between drill holes and slots, the drill holes will give you better braking power over slots for normal city/highway driving. This is why high end BMW, Porsche, Corvette, and Mercedes rotors are drilled, not slotted. However, for track racing (high speed stops), slotted rotors are the better choice.

Are geomet rotors good?

GEOMET minimizes rusting and keeps your rotors looking good. Good initial braking performance: GEOMET® 360 is not greasy and it forms a pretty thin film of coating once dried. This means that the coating is thin enough that it doesn’t damage the quality of braking during the brake’s first use.

Who is R1 concepts?

R1 Concepts is the leading manufacturer and retailer of award winning automotive braking systems. With over 15 years of automotive brake knowledge, R1 Concepts has developed one of the most comprehensive brake catalog in the industry for all foreign and domestic vehicle applications from 1930-present.

Whats better drilled or slotted rotors?

Why are my rotors black?

When you receive your rotors, they will be completely Black or Silver. As soon as you install them and start braking, the friction from the pads will strip the zinc from the pad surface, turning it Silver and leaving the holes, slots, and the rest of the rotor zinc coated in the color you selected.

Are drilled brake rotors better?

If you live in an area that experiences a lot of rain, drilled rotors are a very good choice. They perform well in rainy climates by offering a good “wet bite,” hold up well over the life of the rotors, and deliver more friction and more bite than their slotted counterparts.

Are vented rotors better than solid?

Vented rotors are a better option than traditional solid rotors. They dissipate heat better and don’t warp or fade as much as solid rotors.

Are zinc coated rotors good?

Zinc Plating is more efficient than other processes. It has been found to give longer protection to brake callipers and steel in general, thereby providing a vehicle with reduced risk of damage over time.
