Not real bad but wouldn’t idle rock steady like it had been lately and a little hard to start. Then, on Saturday, it happened again. On the expressway at about 70 and it just starts bucking, misfiring, backfiring out of the blue and can’t get above 45mph. Pulled over, checked the air filter (which is almost new). Took it out and tried again.

You will have to check the fuel pressure at the rail, the test port is ontop driverside about 3/4 the way back. Black cap on aluminum fuel line. The best thing would be to buy or rent a fuel pressure test gauge as it would thread onto this port. If not I’ve used good safety glasses a rag and a screwdriver to check for pressure.

With over 300,000 miles, that is to be expected. Fuel pump, water pump, wheel bearings, u-joints, etc., but haven’t touched the engine or transmission so far. It had 210,000 miles on it before the brakes needed replacing!
