Why does my Silverado go slower past half Trottle?

Why does my Silverado go slower past half Trottle?

The truck starts, idles, and revs normally and when accellarating slowly everything works just fine, but once you get past half throttle it falls on its face and acts like it has a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. It actually goes slower than below half throttle. The bogging gets consistently worse the more throttle you give it.

Why does my car ping under heavy load?

On the drive home the car started pinging under heavy load (really hot day, heading up a mountain pass). I pulled off at the first rest stop and retarded the timing a few degrees.

What kind of timing does a Chevy engine use?

It’s been a while since I’ve worked on a car that didn’t electronically control its own timing, and this is my first Chevy, so I’m a bit foggy about what ballpark timing for this engine should be. The engine is a GM 350ci crate engine (part #10067353). It’s got a small cam and ~8.5:1 compression and uses HEI.

What to do if your Silverado is bogging down?

EGR or fuel restriction. Check to see if carbon canister has been flooded with fuel. This will keep gas tank from breathing properly… Check the ignition timing. Change the fuel filter. Change the plugs, plug wires, disributor and rotor button. Do a system analisis to see if one or more of the half dozen or so sensors is bad.

What causes engine to hesitate at low rpm?

If any of the vacuum hoses around your engine become damaged or worn out, you could experience air leakage from them. Then you will experience engine hesitation which is most noticeable at low RPM. Repair or replace any hoses which are causing the leak.

What to do if your boat won’t go over 4, 000 rpm?

Check your prop. See what the factory recommended size and pitch are and compare it to the one on your boat. Since yours is a ski/wakeboard boat, the previous owner may have increased the pitch for more holeshot, which would decrease top end speed. Talk with a local marine service shop.
