Passenger Side Power Window: Electrical Problem V8 Two Wheel Drive… Passenger side window will not go down. I took the motor out of the door and jumped it off of a battery and it worked in both diections just fine. I plugged it back up and it will go up from the switch on the driver side and the passenger side, but would not go down.

If that isn’t plugged in, none of them work. If the fuse for the driver side is popped, it might be the same thing as unplugging it. Pull the fuse out and you should be able to tell if it’s broken or not – the “z” shaped piece of metal that connects the two blades of the fuse will be broken in the middle.

My son borrowed my 2001 Silverado yesterday and the driver’s side window got stuck about 3/4 of the way down. He says he hears the motor, but it won’t move. He got it up further for now but believes it’s off the track, if that’s possible. As soon as I get it back I’ll take the door panel off to see what’s going on.

Where is the power window switch on a Chevy Silverado?
Even though I had 12 volts at the new window switch, I replaced the 25 amp circuit breaker that is BEHIND the fuse box at the drivers edge of the dashboard, the access requires taking off the knee-panel and using a flashlight to see the top of the 1″ long silver case sticking out.

Observe test light while operating left front window switch on master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to step 7. 5. Replace left power window motor.
