Look at the back of the clutch master cylinder for any oil present. Also, look at the hydraulic line and check for any leaking oil. Check the line to and make sure that it is tight.

There are replacements but no where as good. My point is his advise was do not replace until absolutely necessary because there is nothing out there as good as the original.

I talked to Jim yesterday (they have 2 LT4’s at the shop) and he sidn’t have a source for a new flywheel but he does resurface used ones.
Is the hydraulic clutch noise harmful to the Trans?
The noise is not harmful to the trans, nor does durability suffer, but it is objectionable for most folks. The replacement, solid flywheel kits should have a spring damper type clutch disc to HELP calm the noise, but it will not eliminate it at all, and they do change the “feel” of the clutch.
