Where can I find wild battle pets?
Wild Pets are found throughout the game world. Once you complete a few starter quests, you’ll be able to track wild pets on your minimap (see our Guide to Pet Battles for details). To capture a wild pet, right click on it to start the battle. Your own fighting pet(s) should be close in level to your target.

What happens when you capture a pet in a battle?
The quality of captured wild pets is random. As of patch 5.1, upon entering a battle the Pet Battle UI shows the quality of a wild pet (idicated by a color-coded border around its icon). If you’re farming a specific quality, if you forfeit the match your team will incur a small damage penalty (roughly 10%).
How do you switch spells in a pet battle?
Each slot has two spell options, and you can switch abilities in each, but only before and after your pet battles—not during. To switch an active ability, click on a pet’s active slot in your Pet Journal, and a select which ability you’d like your pet to use from the drop down menu.
