What should the oil pressure be on a 2020 Duramax?
What should the oil pressure be on a 2020 Duramax?
THE OIL PRESSURE IS VARIABLE. at Idle, it is about 20-25 PSI, as you see from my pictures in previous Posts,… At 50% Throttle, it goes up to about 40PSI,… and with 75% to 100% Throttle, the Oil Pressure is 60 PSI.
What’s the normal oil pressure for a Duramax Diesel?
I have a 2005 GMC 2500HD, 6.6L turbo Duramax diesel. I have noticed lately that at idle my truck is around 15-20 psi. Also if I am going say 55 mph and let of the gas the oil pressure drops to 15-20 psi. Is this normal?
What should the oil pressure be at idle?
It’s as high as 80 when the truck is cold. It’s borderline ridiculous how much the oil pressure fluctuates. I have seen as high as 98 psi at idle on a cold idle and as low as 23 psi on a hot one. Click to expand… Exactly.Same here. Its perfectly normal. Most manufacturers make it so the gauge doesn’t move to inspire confidence.
What should oil pressure be at 2000 rpm?
At 2000 RPM warm engine it’s a shade under 60psi. If I pull a trailer up a hill in the hot summer (So Cal coming out of El Centro towards San Diego for example) with the cruise on, it will stay at 2K RPM but the oil pressure drops down to +/- 45 and returns to almost 60 on the down hills.

I’ve never seen more than 210 on the temp gauge but my predator said 234 ECT on that hill.
