Why does my shifter not shift into Park?
When I turn the key back on, it’s always in Park, though, so I don’t have that problem Grizwaldo. At least, not yet anyway. LOL. I just wish they hadn’t done away with the parking brake like the 600 Grizzly had. Why couldn’t we have Park and a parking brake too? That way we could have used Park only if we wanted to.
Why did the cable come off my shift lever?
Now after that repair: THE CABLE END THAT CONNECTS TO THE TRANNY FROM SHIFT LEVER CAME OFF. I see in this post a clip is mentioned.

Why does my shift shifter not move through gears?
I’d suggest checking the shift linkage on the transmission to see if the cable came off. This is due to the connector end bushing falling apart and not being able to hold the cable on any longer. Some cables have to be replaced as a whole and as with others the bushing can be replaced to fix the cable.
Why does my car not shift out of Park?
If the shifter release button is depressed and the shifter is able to be moved, the shifter interlock solenoid is most likely the cause. If this happens, contact a professional mechanic to have your shift interlock solenoid replaced. If your vehicle is not shifting out of park, another reason it may not be working is the battery is dead.
