I had the same problem with my 2017 Sierra Denali power running board on the passenger side opening and going to the rear tire on its own. Why does the running board not come out?

Mostly running board will not come out and when you close the door, you can hear the motor run to pull back in as if it were out. Let me know if you get a fix, mine is out of manufacture warranty, I have extended warranty but don’t know if it is covered. I have the same problem with both sides intermittently.
